A steam inhaler is often an electric inhaler, a device for adults to unblock sinuses, especially in case of sinusitis. With an electric inhaler you can use different products and with a mask (on the nose and mouth).

• What to put in an electric inhaler? There are suitable products (capsules or tablets). Some people use these devices to inhale essential oils, but it is better to use a nasal inhaler designed for this purpose!


• How long does the inhalation last? Usually no more than 5 or 10 minutes.


• How many times a day can I inhale with an electric inhaler? It is not recommended to do more than 3 times a day.

Is the steam inhaler reimbursed in pharmacies??

If prescribed by a doctor for asthma or other diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, an inhalation chamber is reimbursed by social security. There are inhalation devices available in pharmacies that are not covered, for those who simply want to do inhalations to clear their nose.
