What is a bed barrier

A bed safety rail is primarily an anti-fall rail. Depending on health and age, a simple fall from bed can have serious consequences. The bed safety rails we offer are not medical bed rails. They are not compatible with healthcare beds. Our bed rails are removable protectors for any standard bed type.

The types of bed rails

A bed rail for an adult bed is installed on the bed base and is always a retractable bed rail. Bed rails are usually adjustable, to fit different bed frame thicknesses, and some models are adjustable in length. There are even extra long bed rails. However, some folding bed rails are shorter (or adjustable) and serve as a support for standing up. There are, however, straightening bars designed specifically for this purpose.
Another type of removable bed rail is covered with a foam protector. This is a bed rail for elderly people who are at risk of putting an arm through the rail and not being able to get out.
 

Fall prevention bed rails or restraint?

An anti-fall bed rail for the elderly or disabled is not a restraint solution. An adult bedrail is not installed when an elderly person is at risk of getting up and falling.
